 uDownloader and Compass Connector Bridge 

DLS 5

The uDownloader software tool must be used when connecting with DLS 5

  • Login to Alarmdealer.com using your Dealer username and password
  • Click on Dealer Resources
  • Select the uDowloader software tool zip file to download
  • Extract the zip files to the computer and install
  • Verify that the uDownloader shows on the tool bar and that TCP Port: 3062 is entered on the DLS tab
  • Select Manual and enter the full MAC address and Click OK
  • Open the Help PDF file included in the uDownloader files and follow the steps

PC-Link must be wired to the BAT-CDMA

Option 5 in Section 382 needs to be turned on.

Compass 2.0

The uDownloader software tool must be used when connecting with Compass 2.0 and later versions

  • Login to Alarmdealer.com using your Dealer username and password
  • Click on Dealer Resources
  • Select the uDowloader software tool zip file to download
  • Extract the zip files to the computer and install
  • Verify that the uDownloader shows on the tool bar and that Compass is enabled
  • Open the Help PDF file included in the uDownloader files and follow the steps

Compass 1.5 and 1.6

The Compass Connector Bridge software tool must be used for connecting with older Compass versions such as 1.5 and 1.6

  • Login to Alarmdealer.com using your Dealer username and password
  • Click on Dealer Resources
  • Select the uDowloader software tool zip file to download
  • Extract the zip files to the computer and install
  • Verify that the Vcom Setup shows on the tool bar and that Com Port 4 is selected
  • Open the Help PDF file included in the Compass Downloader files and follow the steps
 
 

Troubleshooting Steps: 

  • Check to be sure that panel and revision are supported
  • Pull up PDF help file (attached at front of this section) and walk through all settings
  • Check to be sure that panel type, revision, and all settings are correct
  • Check to be sure that device is online, reads firmware, and virtual keypad interacts
  • Check to be sure that computer firewalls and anti-virus are temporarily disabled
  • Check to be sure that uDownloader is running properly on system
    • Open a command prompt window
    • Type:  ping controlserver.alarmnet.com
    • Should receive 4 positive replies

Compass

  • Check to be sure that all Compass settings for the connection and the customer are correct
  • Check to be sure that First Time Communication is selected or not if connected through device before

DLS V

  • Connect to Virtual Keypad and check to be sure that '5' is enabled in field 382
  • DLS V - Check to be sure that the connection type is switched to PC/T-Link
  • Check to be sure that the PC/T-Link Cable is connected properly (red to left and diagram on CDMA pg. 12

Vista 128 of all types:  If unable to connect, try enabling Long Range Radio in panel programming:

 *93 Menu Mode Programming
  • Select 'Device Programming'
  • Device '03'
  • Device Type '06'
  • LRR Programming? '0'
  • Device '00' (Quit Device Programming)
